What data does Otterwiki collect?

Our server automatically logs usage data. This data includes:

  • Your public IP address
  • Your user agent
  • Your operating system
  • Files you requested from our server
  • The time of your request(s)
  • The size of your request(s)
  • The referrer URL
  • Whether your request was completed successfully

User information is stored on servers located in Singapore. Otterwiki does not require you to share any personal information in order to use the Otterwiki website. You may choose to use proxy, VPN or similar services to hide your IP address while using Otterwiki. Any personal data you choose to add to this wiki (for example on your User page) is also collected and stored on our server.

How is the data used?

The server log is used to analyze website traffic and for purposes of server security. If you do not have an account, your public IP address will be logged whenever you create or edit any article on this wiki and displayed in association with your contribution publicly. Any personal data you choose to add to this wiki (for example on your User page) will also be publicly accessible.


A cookie is a small text file that is stored on a user's computer for record-keeping purposes. We do use cookies on our site. Otterwiki does not use any statistical, tracking or advertising cookies. Otterwiki may use both session ID cookies and persistent cookies. We use session cookies to make it easier for you to navigate our site. A session cookie expires when you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains on your hard drive for an extended period of time. You can remove persistent cookies by following directions provided in your Internet browser's help file. When you login you may select the "Remember me" check box to set a persistent cookie to store your user name and password, so you don't have to enter it more than once. You can remove the session ID cookie by clicking the "log out" link.


You may choose to delete your own account at any time.
